Stoke Coworking is a woman-owned & operated coworking space and entrepreneurial resource center in Denton, TX. In Fall 2023, while working as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, I produced a series of videos as a part of the Virtual Denton Startup Crawl. For these videos, we took viewers behind the scenes at and chatted with the entrepreneurs behind some local Denton spots.
Old Bear Vintage
Old Bear Vintage is Denton's home of super silly billy, funky-fresh, camp-tastic, granny-core, vintage and modern clothing. Rebecca and Becca started selling vintage clothing on eBay from their living room in 2017. By 2018, they had decided to quit full-time jobs to pursue their dream of digging through giant piles of clothing for rare granny-core sweatshirts. Now, they have two locations in Denton.
Thistle Creative Reuse
Thistle Creative Reuse is a arts + craft resale shop with a mission to inspire sustainable creativity by reimagining the lifecycle of materials. From starting an ecommerce store in 2021 to outgrowing their first brick + mortar and diverting over 70,000 pounds of creative material from the waste stream - Thistle continues to prove that art is accessible, ever-changing, and often thrives in community.
M&B Tiny Shop
M&B Tiny Shop is a latin + woman-owned small business selling authentic handmade products from Mexico & Guatemala. They also sell artisanal goods made by Biri (the owner) herself, her mother, and other latin female artists in the USA. M&B is a bright and welcome addition to the Denton community and their support for the Latin community is inspiring. While they no longer operate out of a brick-and-mortar, they’re still providing access to artisanal goods through their ecommerce site.
Wildflower Art Studio
From handmade greeting cards to DIY Kits on the Amazon Best Sellers List and now - a thriving creative community. With a background in and passion for Art Education, Emile Stewart taught her first workshops at her kitchen table before opening their Brick & Mortar in 2017. After 10 years in business and 6 years in their studio, they're dedicated to sharing the magic of creativity with Dentonites.
